Fun with Oliver Jeffers

oliverjeffersworld.com

One of my current favorite projects is working with the brilliant folks at Oliver Jeffers Studio. Oliver Jeffers World lets you (or your kiddos) explore alongside characters from many of Oliver’s books and seek out hidden items in each world. Abacus finished the development of this site and conceived of the hide-and-seek feature. You can also read about his books, and buy one online, which I recommend! And with the upcoming U.S. release of It Wasn’t Me, featuring the Hueys, look out for a new Hueys site soon.

Brooklyn designed and made in the USA, Maptotes are the best. Their line has expanded far beyond tote bags, with the same  attention to quirky topographical detail. Their custom ecommerce application will soon feature an online wholesale system as well. Design by Jon Setzen.

Volunteering for a good cause

Through one of the most connected designers in Brooklyn, Jessica Furst, I got the opportunity to help out the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the web site for their upcoming fundraising gala.  A great cause and a great group of people.

Groundbreaking Micro-Philanthropy Platform

givkwik.com

Founded by fellow Wesleyan alum Jason Rosado, Givkwik allows individuals, organizations, and corporations to give to worthy causes with the click of a button — and at amounts as small as 25¢.  An innovative platform that can be leveraged for private organizations is at the core of the givkwik toolset.  I worked with Jason and his team on the early versions of the givkwik site.

WE Bike, do you?

webikenyc.org

WEBike NYC is an awesome women’s biking group. I’m not only their webmistress, I’m also a member. Check out their rides, events, and mechanics classes. Their WordPress site allows them to promote their activities, raise money (become a WE-backer!) and share news with their members.
